STUDY IN THE HEART OF SWEDEN

Every tenth person in ¹û¶³´«Ã½ is a university student. You can tell. In a short time, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ has transformed from an ordinary city into a student city offering a wide range of culture, entertainment, sports and shopping. Students say that it is a very relaxed place to be a student in. A small city with the attractions of a big city.
The City of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ likes its students. Just as the University, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ wants to grow and advance into the future. This is why it is important for the city to take good care of the young people who come here to study. The autumn semester starts with a welcome party for all new students. The City of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ and the University invite new students to an evening with dancing and good concerts for free.
Sports
¹û¶³´«Ã½ is an acknowledged sports city, hosting a broad range of national-level sporting events, the WRC rally Sweden and not least elite ice hockey league.
The biggest arena is named after a famous coffee brand from ¹û¶³´«Ã½: Löfbergs Arena.
There is always some sporting event to watch and always many opportunities to do a variety of sports. On Campus there is a brand new sports centre offering all students opportunities to engage in sports. There are also enrolled elite sports students at ¹û¶³´«Ã½.
Shopping and entertainment
¹û¶³´«Ã½ can offer a variety of shopping, restaurants and cultural and musical events. There are many shops in the city centre and also a multi-shopping area at Bergvik where IKEA is located and easily reached with non-stop buses from Campus. In relation to the number of inhabitants, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ is a top-ranking city in number of restaurants and bars. There are nightclubs with famous live-artist performances and small clubs, pubs, and restaurants with different profiles and menus.
Transportation
Public transportation runs smoothly in ¹û¶³´«Ã½. There are buses every ten minutes between the centre and campus. Students get a discount on the city buses. There are also many bike and walking trails. In 20 minutes you can reach the central parts of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ from the University.
Culture and arts
¹û¶³´«Ã½ is also known for its music venues. In recent years many world artists have chosen a venue in ¹û¶³´«Ã½ for their concert tours to Sweden. Several nightclubs, restaurants and cafés also arrange concerts and various live performances. There is something for everyone. The Värmland Museum is located in ¹û¶³´«Ã½ and offers exhibitions and lectures.
