Research Environment for Advancing Low Latency Internet (Ready) addresses the problematic latency issues of the Internet.
Latency in the Internet infrastructure is an increasing problem for many Internet applications and services. Interactive services are disrupted for shorter or longer periods of time. It thus becomes hard to deliver media services with low latency. Web services suffer from long delays for each transaction, which is frustrating for the end user because of the long waiting time and bad interactivity. The Research Environment for Advancing Low Latency Internet (READY) distributed research environment aims to address the increasingly problematic latency issues of the Internet. The scientific objectives include analysing and understanding the causes for latency, developing new mechanisms, protocols and architectural elements to mitigate the latency problem, and evaluating the results in application-relevant scenarios using testbeds, simulators and other tools. READY is a collaboration between SICS, ¹û¶³´«Ã½ and Mälardalen University.
The project is funded by the Knowledge Foundation (KK-stiftelsen).
