Open access week seminarium: Copyright and licensing with Open Access publishing
Creative Commons licensing
Open access means that all scientific publications that are the result of publicly funded research should be made openly available when they are published. The easiest way to publish research results openly is to use a Creative Commons license (CC license). Which most research funders also require. The licenses are based on copyright legislation and show how the material can be used, adopted and disseminated, with the sole condition that the researcher must be acknowledged as the author.聽
It is a relatively clear and simple licensing tool, but there are a few things you need to know in order to make a good choice when selecting licenses, and not least, keep your copyright. At the seminar, we will address the importance and use of the different license types and why the choice of license type can be important.
