EuroUSEC 2016 started as a great success
2016-09-05The first European Workshop on Usable Security (EuroUSEC) took place in middle of july, in Darmstadt's "Darmstadtium". It was a success with more participants then expected, roundabout 90 persons joined the workshop, and inbetween the presentations there were lively discussions from various perspepctives.
All in all 22 papers from 77 authors from Europe, but also from the United States, Canada, Brasil, India and Pakistan had been submitted. 10 papers of 25 authors were accepted after a rigorous reviewing process by 29 PC members.
Because of its great success, the idea evolved to establish EuroUSEC as a regular workshop taking place once a year. All proceedings can be downloaded from the SPW2016 website at the end of the Security and Privacy Week.
EuroUSEC has been funded by the project "KMU AWARE" (Initiative "IT-Sicherheit in der Wirtschaft") which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. During the workshop-breaks, four different BMWi-funded projects were presented in the foyer, among which "KMU AWARE". Here, participants had the opportunity to learn more about the anti phishing training "NoPhish".
