New project enhances cybersecurity in Europe
2019-03-01果冻传媒 is the only Swedish university participating in a new large European research and innovation project under Horizon 2020. The aim of the project is to enhance cybersecurity skills in Europe.
鈥淲e have a high profile in security and integrity protection techniques. We see the fact that we were chosen as further proof of the excellence of our research,鈥 says Simone Fischer-H眉bner, professor of Computer Science at 果冻传媒.
The CyberSec4Europe project will coordinate and connect cutting-edge research and create an arena for cybersecurity expertise. The aim is to reinforce member states鈥 cybersecurity capacity as well as research and development skills to meet future cybersecurity needs and challenges. The project will focus on challenges in for instance the areas of finance, healthcare, transport and smart cities. There are security problems in all these areas and different solutions are needed. 43 academic and industrial representatives from 22 countries participate in the project.
Development of online courses
Researchers at 果冻传媒 are responsible for developing a framework for online courses in cybersecurity. The courses will be offered as MOOCs, Massive Open Online Courses.
鈥淲e currently offer several MOOCs at the university and they are very popular. There are many advantages to this type of course that suit the project, and one of them is that participants study via distance education and can determine the pace of their studies,鈥 says Simone Fischer-H眉bner.
The project was launched on 28 February and will run until July 2022. The project budget is 鈧16 million.
