At the summit, in the Google Engineering Office in Munich, Germany, the students had the opportunity to explore complex and large-scale computing challenges. Farzaneh Karegar, Leonardo Iwaya both PhD students within Computer Science and Rasmus östersjö student at the Computer Science program, applied and got chosen for the summit with all expenses payed by Google. 
- For me as a student the highlight of the conference was to get a proper insight into what Google is working with in the security front, and to exchange ideas with both PhD and Google engineers, Rasmus östersjö says. It was also good seminars related to Certificate of Transparency, an area which I find very interesting.
- During the summit we shared our work with each other and fellow Googlers through talks, round tables, and poster shows. The summit was designed to create an intimate environment and facilitate an exchange of ideas amongst us and Google engineers, explains Farzaneh Karegar.
Google conducts in-house research, but they are also interested in maintaining strong relationships with academic institutions, students, and faculty, pursuing research in areas of common interest.
- This was a great opportunity for us to meet researchers in the same area, make connections and to broaden our knowledge, Leonardo Iwaya says.
