... you are conducting research on idea management and innovation processes - how ideas are refined and further developed at an early stage in the innovation process. Why is this interesting?
"Innovation is important for a sustainable societal development. Innovation begins with ideas that must be developed in order to be realized. That is why I chose to focus on ideas. During the current pandemic, many companies and organizations are forced to make major changes in a very short time. There is no lack of creativity or good ideas, but it is important to have the right tools to be able to capture, refine and realize these ideas. It is a long journey from idea to realization. We need to understand what happens to the idea during development, because only then can we create an environment and conditions that enable us to implement and make use of the solutions in practice."
What do you hope to contribute through your research?
"An increased understanding of the innovation processes and idea management in public and private organizations. I want to contribute to providing these organizations with the right knowledge and tools that will help them solve important societal challenges. I hope that my research will lay the foundation for further research on how we can improve idea development, for example how the innovation process can become more efficient or by testing the effect of different development methods. As technologies develop, it is becoming more relevant how different technical tools can be used in innovation work."
What are you working on right now?
"I am working on two scientific articles that will be included in my doctoral dissertation, one of which is a literature review of previous research on idea refinement. The second article is an empirical study of how the idea refinement process takes place in innovation groups in primary care. The aim is to create a better understanding of the process itself and how we can make primary care more innovative based on these lessons. I also participate in a research project where we are developing and testing a digital innovation platform that aims to facilitate idea development in public organizations. Besides research, I also teach business administration and industrial economics at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Business School at ¹û¶³´«Ã½.
