Meet Anna Nilstomt, new PhD student in Psychology
2020-04-16We are happy to welcome Anna Nilstomt, new PhD student in Psychology at CTF. She will, among other things, study how digitalized services can help improve peoples health.
What is your research focus?
"I will study how habitual behaviors, behavioral changes, motivation and information in the society and individually can be influenced in positive ways. To be more specific, I will explore how technical tools, for example, smart watches and mobile phones can be used to facilitate behavioral changes. Central questions are, what kind of data and form of data presentation can motivate individuals to healthy behavior."
What would you like to achieve with your research?
"Health psychology is a topic that is close to my heart and affects us all. Today, we are all influenced by the development in technology. Hopefully, can research that combines health psychology and digitalization contribute with new knowledge to promote behavioral changes that eventually can lead to a healthier world."
What is your background?
"I am a licensed psychologist, and I earned my psychology degree June 2016 at Örebro University, Sweden. I continued my studies at San Diego State University in the United States, where I also participated in Dr. Cronan’s Health Outcome Studies Lab as a research assistant. I then returned to Sweden for my intern psychologist duty and to work as a psychologist. Today, I am back in the academic world, this time as a PhD student at CTF."
Do you have any interests besides your research?
"Yes, on my time off I like to spend time dancing, hiking, traveling and knitting."
