New collaboration with the international network BEST
2017-10-30In 2018, researchers at CTF will initiate a renewed collaboration with BEST, Benchmarking in European Service of Public Transport network. The aim is to investigate the connection between public transport travel and the quality of life in seven European cities.
The BEST network was established in 1999 with the aim to increase the use of public transport in European urban areas and consists of public transport operators in Bergen, Copenhagen, Geneva, Helsinki, Rotterdam – the Hauge, Oslo and Stockholm. One important goal is to strengthen the focus on traveler’s needs, requirements and expectations, and also to establish learning processes in their respective organizations. As part of this work, the network preforms an annual survey on travel habits, perceived quality, the value of public transport and loyalty to public transport among its inhabitants.
– In our research, we have identified a knowledge gap that coincides with the network’s interests. By including our questions in the survey we can together gain a better understanding of how public transport services can make a difference for a lot of people in everyday life, says Professor Margareta Friman.
The collaboration will take place in 2018 and the results will be discussed and presented during the network meetings.
