Samot Partner Conference 2016
2016-04-28On April 13-14 Samot, The Service and Market Oriented Transport Research Group at ¹û¶³´«Ã½, arranged their annual partner conference. The program included availability, special transport and energy efficiency in public transport.
- Since the beginning ten years ago we have gathered our researchers and partners for an annual conference, where we work on common issues and themes related to public transport. The theme of this year’s conference was implementation, and it was two very successful days spent together, says Margareta Friman, Director of Samot.
The program included presentations on availability, special transport and energy efficiency in Public Transport. For example talked Erika Knobblock, about availability and their efforts to develop public transport in the city of Malmö. Ã¥sa Rönnbäck, SIQ, talked about her time as an industrial Ph D Student at Värmlandstrafik. Anders Wahlén, Värmlandstrafik, gave an insight on special travel within healthcare and presented an ongoing study on design optimization journey in healthcare.
Samot researchers gave an insight on their current research. Katrin Lättman, talked about her Ph D studies on traveler perceived availability. Lars E. Olsson spoke of the relationship between everyday travel and happiness. Per Echeverri spoke about the possibilities for development in special travel. Margareta Friman presentede the new innovation cluster for energy efficient public transport.
- To mix presentations from practitioners with insights from researchers is clearly a win-win at our partner conference. It gives an opportunity to reflect on what is going on in the industry, seen from a wider perspective. Together we explore the new business landscape from different angles, which is very stimulating and gives lots of energy. The conference also inspire to collaboration across borders, which is absolutely necessary in order to meet the travelers needs for complete solutions, said Chairman at Samot, Charlotte Wäreborn Schultz.
