30.0 ECTS creditsThe course comprises four modules:
Module 1: Spanish syntax 7.5 ECTS cr
The module includes theoretical and practical surveys of central problems of Spanish syntax and translation exercises from Swedish into idiomatic Spanish. The application of Spanish grammar in teaching to explain problematic grammatical phenomena for learners and to assess proficiency is treated.
Module 2: Latin-America, culture and society 7.5 ECTS cr
The module provides an introduction to Latin-American geography, history and culture with a special emphasis on the pre-understanding of current cultural phenomena and social conditions. Different intercultural perspectives on the relationships between literature, language and culture are analysed and discussed critically. The application of course content in Spanish teaching is addressed.
Module 3 Spanish phonology and linguistics 7.5 ECTS cr
The module surveys Spanish phonology, morphology, prosody and regional features as well as their application in teaching.
Module 4 Spanish-speaking literature 7.5 ECTS cr
The module includes the reading, analysis and interpretation of 20th century literary texts of different genres. Basic theoretical concepts related to analysis and interpretation are developed to provide insights into different literary perspectives and interpretative potentials for application in various communicative situations and in teaching.
