Health Promotion
7.5 ECTS creditsInstruction is in the form of lectures, group work and seminars. The planning of a seminar on course content and presentation of research is part of the course.
The course comprises the following five components:
- the scope and content of the holistic health concept, definition of health promotion and its development over time
- psychological, collective and organisational Empowerment compared with powerlessness, Antonovsky's theories on salutogenesis, pathogenesis, resilience and a sense of coherence (KASAM)
- fair health described in terms of socioeconomic factors and human rights, equql treatment in terms of power structures and gender theory
- theories on change processes at the individual, population and social level
- Goals (WHO and nationally) and policies controlling health promotion, top-down and bootom-up perspectives, intersectorial cooperation of teams and organisations.

Admission requirements
General admission requirements for admission to Master-level courses plus at least 60 ECTS cr and upper secondary level Swedish B/Swedish 2 B and English A, or equivalent
Selection:
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
