Recognizing and responding to child maltreatment
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course is offered as part-time distance education with mandatory campus meetings early and late in the course. Instruction at campus meetings is in the form of lectures, group exercises, and examination seminars. An internet-based virtual learning environment is used in the course. The course comprises the following components:
- definitions of child maltreatment and different forms of violence against children
- occurrence of child abuse
- consequences of child maltreatment
- signs and symptoms of child maltreatment
- the disclosure process
- protective and risk factors for child maltreatment
- professional conduct
- cooperation and collaboration when working with child maltreatment
- the rights of the child
- public health policy and national public health goals

Admission requirements
At least 60 ECTS credits completed, plus upper secondary level Swedish 3 or Swedish as a second language 3 and English 6, or equivalent

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
