The New Political History

 7.5 ECTS credits
The course centres on the emergence of the new political history as a research field formed by other disciplines. In contrast to the previous political history, which mainly concerned the parliamentary arena and "great men" in history, the new political history has a broader perspective. Politics is ubiquitous and takes various forms. The new political history focuses on exploring and understanding the ubiquity and forms of politics through interdisciplinary and perspectives and approaches. The interdisciplinary character of new political history is clarified and placed in a historiographic context. Different perspectives and methodological approaches in the new political history are treated. Students independently apply a new political history perspective and/or methodogical approach in an independent project, and acquire perspective and skills that can be used for different types of in-depth studies and future research.

Admission requirements
Bachelor degree 180 ECTS cr with a major in history, political science, sociology, social work, human geography, cultural studies, history of ideas, religious studies, ethnology, anthropology or equivalent. Upper secondary school level Swedish 3 or B/ Swedish as a second language 3 or B and English 6 or B, or equivalent.
Selection:

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
