Ensemble IV, Western classical music
7.5 ECTS creditsStudents study and perform Western classical music repertoires for various ensemble constellations in different styles and from various epochs as well as repertoire that is based on cross-generic musical forms. They identify and solve technique and rendition problems relating to style, performance praxis, notation issues and interpretation in various areas of ensemble music and ensemble constellations. They also critically reflect upon and discuss different artistic approaches, rendition and performance and identify methods for developing their own musical performance. Students whose main instrument is the piano also practise accompaniment. Parts of the repertoire are performed in in-house concerts.
Instruction is in the form of group lessons and concentrated rehearsals during project weeks.
