Scientific methods in geomatics
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course provides lectures describing the research process and prepares students for the degree project.
Lectures alternate with exercises and seminars in which students test and discuss the following components:
- theory of science perspectives, approaches and concepts
- the steps in the research process
- data base searches
- academic writing: structure, formal aspects, referencing, copyright, etc.

Admission requirements
30 ECTS credits completed in the Surveying Technology and Geographic IT programme or the Surveying and Mapping programme and 4 ECTS credits completed in the course Geographic Information Systems I (7.5 ECTS credits), or equivalent
Selection:
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
