The application process
Make an electronic application
In Sweden you apply for study programmes and courses at all universities on the same website and on the same application. You easily apply by creating an account on the website for University Admissions in Sweden. Please note that any information regarding your application will be communicated on My pages through the entire process.
Make sure you apply in time
We recommend all international non-exchange students to apply to the earlier admission round as it will give you more time to make preparations upon your arrival. On the website for University Admissions in Sweden you find more information about the application process, such as important key dates and deadlines.
Submit supporting documents
You must submit documentation to demonstrate your eligibility for the courses and study programmes that you have applied for. The documents must be submitted on your account on the website for University Admissions in Sweden.
Pay the application fee
Students with citizenship in countries not within the EU/EEA, or Switzerland, are normally required to pay an application fee for university studies in Sweden. Please find more information on the website for University Admissions in Sweden.
You may want to apply for a scholarship
Make sure that you are informed about the application timelines, as they differ depending on which scholarship programme you are applying for. Please find more information below.
Keep an eye on My pages on the website for University Admissions in Sweden
Any information regarding your application will be communicated on My pages on the website for University Admissions in Sweden. If you receive a message on My pages you will be notified on your registered e-mail address. Please keep in mind that is your responsibility to make sure that your contact information is correct and updated.
Receive a letter of admission
If you apply in the first admission round, which we recommend, a letter of admission will be issued on My pages on the website for University Admissions in Sweden at the end of March or the beginning of April for the autumn semester. You do not need to confirm that you wish to keep your place in the first admission round. However, for applications made in the second admission round, a reply is required in order to keep your place. Please find more information on the website for University Admissions in Sweden.
