Department of Engineering and Physics
At the Department of Engineering and Physics education is offered at all levels and research is performed within the disciplines Electrical Engineering, Physics, and Mechanical and Materials Engineering.
The Department welcomes students who want to deepen their knowledge in Engineering and Science with high relevance for a sustainable development of society. Studies at basic and advanced levels leed to degrees as Master of Science in Engineering, BachelorÌýof Science in Engineering,ÌýBachelorÌýof Science,ÌýMaster of Science as well as to degrees of Bachelor and Master in School Education from preschool to highschool.
The courses offered are primarily parts of educational programmes at the Faculty, but separate courses are given for both Swedish and international students. Courses may be offered both on campus and on-line. A large number of courses may be given in English and our teachers form a very international part of the Faculty.
Most of the teachers at the Department are active researchers. The research shows a broad variation from Materials research, with focus on e.g. energy-solutions for the future and advanced tool-materials, to sustainable cities and improved school-education in Physics and Technology. Most researchers take part in some of the successful research groups and centers within their areas of expertise, mostly at our University but also nationally and internationally.
