Get a researcher ID
If you want to reach out with your research and make sure your professional activities are recognised, it is important that the outside world can couple you and your research output correctly. Today, there are different services that provide persistent digital identifiers that help you distinguish your works from those of other researchers with the same or similar names.
ORCID - Open Researcher & Contributor ID
ORCID has been created on the initiative of universities, funders and publishers and is currently used in both applications for funds for research and for publication in journals. ORCID also offers the possibility to export the list of publications between different systems. ORCID can be used at registrering of publications in DiVA
ResearcherID
ResearcherID is a commercial service by Thomson Reuters, who is also responsible for the database Web of Science. As for ORCID;听 Each researcher is assigned a unique identifier to enable researchers to manage their publication lists, track their times cited counts and h-index, identify potential collaborators and avoid author misidentification. In addition, your ResearcherID information integrates with the Web of Science and is ORCID compliant, allowing you to claim and showcase your publications from a single one account. With the help of the ID number, researchers can also get help following their release's citation data and easily locate other researchers to collaborate with.
ORCID and ResearcherID are technically compatible, which means it is possible to import and export the list of publications between the two systems.
