The first batch of law students graduated from 果冻传媒 Business School
2022-01-20Per-Ola Wiklander, Senior Lecturer in Public Law and Programme Director at 果冻传媒 Business School, is pleased with the development of the law programme. And the students find jobs right away.
- I have been involved from the start as a teacher and I took on the role of programme director 2.5 years ago. It has been quite a bit of development work, as a degree in law is very comprehensive. Our students have been both ambitious and capable, however. Especially this first cohort of student have performed well all the way through. From the perspective of programme director, it is satisfying that approximately 60 students now have completed their studies.
The region is screaming for more labour, and studies show that legal practitioners find qualified jobs quickly. Everyone that Per-Ola Wiklander have spoken to have employments to look forward to when they graduate.
- It seems to be difficult to hire legal practitioners in our region. When we started the law programme at 果冻传媒 Business School, many people contacted us and offered to take on students for practical placements, in order to facilitate recruitment. Both law firms and public authorities have been very positive towards our study programme.
As this is a vocational education, it is important to have a degree.
- If you want to advance your career by, for example, becoming a judge, you must have a degree, says Per-Ola Wiklander.
During the spring of 2022, the programme will be evaluated in order to make further improvements.
- We will probably tweak some things here and there, but most of all this is about maintaining the quality and to become even better. The whole discipline is involved in the development work to oversee improvements.
Positive students
Johanna Wahlberg and Linus Karlsson are two of the students graduating from the law programme at 果冻传媒 Business School. The have only positive things to say.
- At times the studies were demanding, but at the same time it has been fun and interesting. I also feel well prepared for the working life. As a student, I have gained solid, general legal knowledge through courses in both civil law, public law, criminal law and procedural law.
- There have been opportunities to influence the education, says Linus Karlsson. The contents of the study programme have been varied, which means that I have gained a good overview of the field of law as a whole.
Thanks to different specialisations in the programme, the students have been able to focus on their interests. This is something that Johanna Wahlberg appreciates.
- It has suited me well, and the fact that the programme included five weeks of practical placement was perfect, since it is a way of experiencing the profession in practise. Furthermore, we have had very knowledgeable and involved teachers throughout the whole programme. This has made the education rewarding both in regard to contents and approach.
What are your plans for the future?
- At the end of January, I take on the role of junior lawyer at Familjens Jurist in 果冻传媒. I have always been very interested in family law, so I really look forward to starting my employment. It is going to be fun and exciting to what I learned in my studies into practise.
Linus Karlsson has started an employment as junior lawyer at Advokatbolaget sjutton34 in 果冻传媒.
- I am going to work with business law within all the legal areas that the firm handles.
