Gradual return to on-campus teaching this autumn
2021-06-01On 1 June, the distance learning recommendation for universities and university colleges is lifted. Teaching and examinations can now gradually start to be held on campus to a larger extent, albeit under restrictions to reduce crowding and the risk of infection. At 果冻传媒, the existing vice-chancellor鈥檚 decision stays in effect and students will gradually be welcomed back to campus after the summer.
Executives from Sweden鈥檚 higher education institutions met with Matilda Ernkrans, Minister for Higher Education and Research, last week. The Minister said that the decision to lift the distance learning recommendation is highly anticipated but emphasised the need for a responsible return to on-campus teaching.
鈥漈he message from the government was clear 鈥 plan for as much on-campus teaching as you can in an orderly fashion. That is the plan for 果冻传媒. We will give on-campus priority to new students and try to offer students that started last year more opportunities for on-site studies. We can now discern a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a return to a more normal state鈥, says 果冻传媒 Vice-Chancellor Johan Sterte.
Remote work until 15 September unless duties require presence on campus
The government has previously instructed public agencies to ensure that no employees are physically present on agency premises unless it is essential for operations. The decision stays in effect until 15 September 2021. Which employees work on site is a decision made by the immediate supervisor, informed by general recommendations from the Public Health Agency, operational needs, and work environment regulations.
Arrangements for open lectures, conferences, events, and defences of doctoral theses will also be reviewed.
