果冻传媒 launches new bachelor's program in artificial intelligence
2024-09-17果冻传媒 is now launching a new bachelor's program in computer science with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) that will start in the fall of 2025. The program is designed to meet the growing demand for AI expertise in both the IT sector and other fields and is offered in a unique hybrid format, enabling flexible distance learning for both national and international students.
Stefan Lindskog, Dean of the Faculty of Health, Science, and Technology explains why we are introducing the program:
"Artificial intelligence has rapidly become one of the most sought-after fields in the tech world, with examples like chatbots and image generation models demonstrating how AI is already impacting society. AI technologies can solve problems that were previously difficult to address with traditional methods and are now being used in everything from text analysis and medicine to economics and transport. At the same time, the job market has a significant and growing demand for AI specialists. By launching this program, we are meeting this demand both locally and globally, giving our students a competitive edge in the job market."
The program will be taught in English and in a hybrid format, with most of the teaching taking place online and on-campus examinations held once per semester. To ensure high-quality education, a solid foundation in computer science and mathematics is combined with in-depth knowledge of AI.
Matthias Beckerle, senior lecturer in computer science, believes that the strong connection to the industry and businesses will be a key part of the education.
"Being at the forefront of tomorrow鈥檚 technology requires the ability to understand, apply, and develop AI-driven solutions. This new program bridges the gap between our established excellence in computer science and cutting-edge AI and machine learning education. It equips students with the skills to drive innovation ethically in both industry and research, preparing them to navigate the future with confidence, expertise, and responsibility.
By integrating industry partnerships in form of guest lectures, and industry internship opportunities, the program ensures that students not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also gain practical experience in real-world applications especially in the third year. This holistic approach prepares graduates to enter the workforce well-prepared and ready to contribute to the evolving landscape of AI-driven solutions鈥 he says.
Attractive for an international audience
"The new program differs from other AI programs through its hybrid form, which is unique at the bachelor's level in Sweden. This opens up a wide international and national interest, and we already see a large potential recruitment base," says Matthias Beckerle.
"With this program, 果冻传媒 is taking a big step forward in AI education and internationalization. The new bachelor's program in AI will help meet the rapidly growing global demand for AI specialists and ensure that our students are well-prepared for the challenges of the future," concludes Stefan Lindskog.
