She has been elected member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of Science Europe, the European umbrella organisation for research funders and research-performing organisations.
This means that Simone Fischer H眉bner will be involved in influencing the strategies and guidelines for European research.

Science Europe, an umbrella organisation for research funders and researcher-performing organisations, provides strategic advice to EU policymakers. Simone Fischer H眉bner was first nominated by the Swedish Research Council and then elected by European research colleagues. This position carries a lot of responsibility: the holder does not only represent his/her own field or university, but the research world at large.
An important strategic issue that Science Europe currently focuses on involves the long and short-term impact of research. Today there are often demands that research should have immediate impact and dissemination, but frequently this only happens much later, says Simone Fischer H眉bner.
