Research profile High Quality Networked Services in a Mobile World (HITS) has been concluded
2021-04-12The overall goal for HITS was to contribute to the development of high-quality networked services for a mobile world through world-class research and industrial collaboration. The project started in September 2014 and concluded in 2020 with excellent results.
Within the HITS research profile, researchers from Computer Science at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ collaborated with the following partners from the Swedish IT industry to find new high-quality network services for a mobile world – Clavister, Ericsson, Icomera, Sandvine, and Tieto.
The project’s every target and intermediate target was achieved with excellent results. We contributed to the development of state-of-the-art technology and products. We also bolstered research and education in Computer Science and Computer Engineering at ¹û¶³´«Ã½.
The work conducted within the research profile helped expand and reinforce the Computer Science research team. Close collaboration with the industry partners facilitated concrete industrial products and problem solutions, more knowledge-sharing, and new joint initiatives.
- The HITS research project contributed to a remarkable development for the Computer Science research team, says Stefan Lindskog, HITS project manager. The research profile had a significant impact on the team’s ambitions and ¹û¶³´«Ã½â€™s strategic goals. The project also boosted the team’s academic reputation, which has been an advantage in international recruitment.
HITS has helped lay a solid foundation from which the research environment in Computer Science can continue to grow. Several impactful initiatives, new research projects, training efforts, and additional recruitments have already been launched.
- We aim to keep developing these initiatives and use the results from HITS to position Computer Science at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ internationally, says Anna Brunström, head of subject for Computer Science.
