The mixed form of teaching will continue to apply during the spring term 2021. Priority will be given to first-year students enrolled in campus-based programmes at undergraduate and master’s level, as well as activities involving international students, following a new decision effective from 26 October 2020 on continuing to keep campus partially open.
Programme coordinators will be asked to identify courses where on-campus teaching would be possible with regard to the Public Health Agency’s recommendations. Course components that are crucial for the students’ progression and that must take place on campus and examinations that cannot be turned into a take-home examination will be prioritised next, regardless of when in the course or programme they take place. Planning for study period 5 will not be affected by the decision but remains the same.
Components that are not covered by this shall be carried out remotely. The Vice-Chancellor has therefore decided that deviations from course and programme syllabi will continue to be permitted throughout the spring term 2021 with regard to forms of teaching and examination in order to enable distance education. The heads of department are also responsible for ensuring that there are clear routines for informing students about any changes in good time.
Since the university welcomes certain students on campus during the autumn and spring term, certain members of staff need to be on site to run those operations. It is up to each head to decide whether an employee needs to work on campus and, if so, to what extent. However, it is still of great importance that as few people as possible are present on campus.
