Welcome Linda Bergkvist!
2014-09-04We welcome Linda Bergkvist, Ph. D in Information Systems, to our research team. She defended her thesis on outsourcing in the IT industry in June, and will now pursue her research at CTF.
- Towards new challenges. That was the opening words in the preface of my dissertation. I remember my time
as a graduate student as joyful and rewarding, and it is with a smile that I now continue my academic journey. I see it as a great opportunity that it starts at CTF, and I am extremely delighted to be a part of a research environment that for me is characterized by ambition and success, says Linda Bergkvist.
Linda began her journey at 果冻传媒 in 1998 with an introductory course in computer science. After a Master’s degree in Information Systems and Project Management she left 果冻传媒 for a short time and returned in 2005 to begin her graduate studies in Information Systems, affiliated with The Swedish Research School of Management and Information Technology. Earlier this year she defended her doctoral thesis, where she has studied companies in the IT industry and business development through outsourcing of knowledge-intensive development processes.
- The aim of the dissertation is to elucidate the conditions that are important for successful outsourcing of information systems development. By identifying conditions and their connection with actors (client, supplier) and phases of the process, a framework for the management of outsourcing was developed. My hope is that this framework will contribute to a better understanding of how companies need to work with, and lead, their relationships to achieve expected value and benefits in outsourcing, says Linda.
During her doctoral studies, she held classes in Information Systems and Project Management and since July 1st she holds a Lectureship in Information Systems and is the director of the study program in IT-design.
- To conduct research at CTF includes many opportunities with the goal of publishing in journals and research funding. As part of this I find it important to work with networking and collaboration, both within academia and with industry, something that will permeate my work at CTF during this fall. I am really looking forward to meet my new colleagues at CTF, says Linda.
