Welcome to SASUF satellite event on the theme of visual and intercultural studies on the 14th of May
2024-05-08"The event is aimed at researchers, teachers, students, and others interested in internationalization within higher education, and focuses on the possibility of pursuing a master's degree in visual culture and communication," says Staffan Löfving, associate professor of Social Anthropology and lecturer in Intercultural Studies.
The satellite event is organized within the framework of the South Africa-Sweden University Forum (SASUF) research and innovation week, which runs from the 13th to the 17th of May. During the innovation week, several satellite events with various themes are being organized at Swedish universities on the 13th and 14th of May, most of them in hybrid format.
"At Intercultural Studies at ¹û¶³´«Ã½, we have an ongoing collaboration with the University of Johannesburg, where we teach and conduct research together in visual culture and intercultural communication," says Staffan Löfving, who is responsible for the event.
The event focuses on collaboration in advanced education and discussions on how the universities in ¹û¶³´«Ã½ and Johannesburg can benefit from each other's expertise.
"We have invited representatives from master's programs at Lund, Gothenburg, Aalborg, and ¹û¶³´«Ã½ universities to share their experiences in this field," says Staffan Löfving. "I hope that we can learn from each other about opportunities for studies and teaching across national borders, and how others have overcome difficulties that such collaborations entail."
