Will he become the new vice-chancellor at ¹û¶³´«Ã½?
2023-01-02The process of recruiting a new vice-chancellor at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ is progressing. The recruitment group has unanimous decided to go ahead with professor Jerker Moodysson, the candidate assessed to have the highest merits in regards to the requirement profile.
He is Professor and his work focuses on the geography of innovation and the dynamics of regional economies. He is particularly interested in assessing how societal institutions influence organisations’ innovative capacity.
The consultative assembly groups with representatives of teaching staff, technical/administrative staff, students and managers at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ will meet Jerker Moodysson in mid-January.
He is currently managing director and dean at the Jönköping International Business School, which is part of the Jönköping University Foundation.
- I have been here in Jönköping for 6.5 years now. It has been an evolving time, but now I have reached the goals I set out when I started and I am ready for a new challenge. I want to become vice-chancellor at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ because I see opportunities to contribute to the further development of an already strong university. ¹û¶³´«Ã½ is similar to Jönköping. The university plays a role in the region, society and business in a similar way as the university does here in Jönköping, says Jerker Moodysson.
He is from Småland, born and raised in Virserum. He began his academic career at Lund University, where he was director of the Center for Innovation Research during 2011-2016. In addition to his assignments at the International Business School in Jönköping, Jerker Moodysson is also chairman of the board of the School of Business at the University of Stavanger.
After the consultative assembly groups have interviewed Jerker Moodysson, they will submit their views to the recruitment group, which in turn reports to the university board. The board will then decide which of the candidates who will be proposed to the government as vice-chancellor of ¹û¶³´«Ã½.
