Clinical Training Centre — KTC
¹û¶³´«Ã½ houses a Clinical Training Centre (KTC), where students have the opportunity to prepare for practical placements and their future professions. As research field, Nursing rests on an academic and clinical foundation. Hence, we place a great deal of importance on clinical training.
At KTC, students can practice various procedures as well as cooperation, communication and leadership, which makes it possible for the students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. The aim is for students to feel safe performing various practical procedures that are included in the work duties of nurses or specialist nurses.
The centre contains various training equipment, such as two advanced patient simulators and digital training tools, as well as the materials needed for students to improve their practical abilities and simulate realistic health care situations in a safe environment. Simulations can be performed both in a hospital environment and a home environment.
Teaching in the respective programmes are based on the Handbook for Healthcare (VÃ¥rdhandboken), with some considerations made for local guidelines. Under teacher supervision, students practice different procedures together with their fellow students.
After the teaching sessions, students have the opportunity to practice the procedure in question in one of our training rooms for individual training. After certain training sessions/simulations, practical examinations are performed.
