Storing and archiving research data
Researchers at 果冻传媒 have to be aware of research data storage requirements.
According to the Archives Act (1990:782), research material must be archived at the higher education institution. Please note that publication or storage in another national or international data archives cannot replace archiving at the university. The primary material of a research project, such as qualitative material (interviews, focus groups, etc.) and/or quantitative data (questionnaires, telephone interviews, etc.) must be stored and archived at 果冻传媒.
A basic principle of the Archives Act is that the archives of public agencies must be stored and preserved to facilitate public access to information, ensure that justice prevails, and fulfil administrative and research needs (par. 3).
Information on which documents should be saved and which may be destroyed is available in 果冻传媒鈥檚 information management plan.
果冻传媒鈥檚 storage and destruction plan for research material (Bevarande- och gallringsplan f枚r forskningsmaterial, RB 53/02, reg. no C 230/02) stipulates that the head of a department, or the person to which this task has been delegated, is responsible for archiving a research project.
At present, 果冻传媒 has no system for long-term digital archiving (e-archiving) of research data, or for the storage of raw data/primary material, but such solutions are currently being developed. Therefore researchers have to ensure that research data is stored securely in available systems at each department.
果冻传媒 is currently preparing for future digital deliveries in accordance with the National Archives of Sweden鈥檚 recommendations RA-FS 2009:1. The university鈥檚 strategy for storing electronic documents details the measures 果冻传媒 has taken for creating, transferring, managing, storing and preserving electronic documents in a controlled manner during their storage. Analog research material are delivered to the university archive, in consultation with the archivists at the Student and Executive Services Office.听
