Guidance to Research Integrity
Research integrity means conducting research in a way which allows others to have confidence in the methods used and the findings that result from it. Within the university, conducting research with integrity also means meeting the professional standards expected of our researchers.
The university takes the Principles for Good Research Practice (found in Rb听127/19) and the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity as its starting point for the description of research integrity provided by the, the key elements of which are honesty, rigour, transparency and respect for all participants.

The principles reflect the basic responsibility and ethical core values to be applied in research. The principles are also intended to encourage academic staff and the university as a whole to reflect on the practical, ethical and intellectual challenges and decisions involved in research. As part of its commitment to the Principles for Good Research Practice, the university will support researchers to maintain the highest standards of integrity in research by:
- providing clear policies and procedures, as well as training and guidance to help researchers better understand how to maintain high standards of research integrity;
- having suitable mechanisms for reviewing ethical issues raised by research;
- using transparent, robust and fair processes to deal with allegations of research misconduct.
