Research
I am a condensed matter physicist with a strong interest in renewable and clean energy science. My research group leverages density functional theory, molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo simulations, and artificial intelligence techniques to investigate the physical-chemical processes in condensed matter that are critical for energy conversion and storage.
Our work focuses on key scientific challenges in soft condensed matter, polymer physics, operando spectroscopy, battery materials, photo-electro-catalysis, and photovoltaics. The overarching goal is to design novel functional materials that support the transition to a sustainable energy system.

Bio
Prof. Moyses Araujo earned his PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from Uppsala University (UU). Following his doctorate, he held a postdoctoral position at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, supported by a prestigious scholarship from the Swedish Research Council (VR). In recognition of his contributions to research in Sweden, he received three distinguished awards: the Benzelius Prize from the Royal Society of Sciences in Uppsala, the 脜ngstr枚m Premium from UU, and the Bjurzon鈥檚 Premium, the highest honor for a PhD thesis at UU.
In 2011, Prof. Araujo moved to the United States for a postdoctoral position at Yale University, funded by a prestigious scholarship from the Yale Climate and Energy Institute (YCEI). In 2012, he returned to Sweden as a researcher at UU, and in 2014, he established his own independent research group with support from VR's Young Researcher Grant. He achieved the title of Docent in Physics at Uppsala University in 2018.
In September 2020, he joined 果冻传媒 (KAU) as an Associate Professor (universitetslektor) in condensed matter theory. As of September 2024, he has been promoted to the position of Professor of Physics at KAU.
