Mathematical Modeling with Measures
Mathematical Modeling with Measures: Where Applications, Probability and Determinism Meet from 3 Dec 2018 through 7 Dec 2018
Venue:
Lorentz Center@Snellius, Leiden, The Netherlands
Description and aim of the workshop
The workshop aims at sharing and advancing the state-of-the-art in ‘Mathematical Modeling with Measures’. This goal is achieved through scientific discussions and tutorials accessible to both junior scientists as well as to senior scientists from related fields. Everyone will have the opportunity to present their latest research. We wish to identify new open problems motivated by specific applications and novel theoretical questions — we will foster all collaborative efforts for this to happen.
A few concrete applications and the analytic techniques required to deal with them will have a core role, while a key recurrent topic will be the interplay between probabilistic and deterministic models. We expect that new research will start off during the workshop week, fuelled by lively and deep discussions.
