Over the past few years, the International Artists in Residence programme at Ingesund School of Music, Arvika, Sweden, has reached an exceptionally high level, attracting international musicians to come to Sweden to develop and improve their skills. At the end of 2020 it was announced that the Kjell and Märta Beijer Foundation offers Ingesund Piano Foundation the opportunity to award scholarships to pay the tuition fee for three international concert pianists during 2021.
Ingesund School of Music is part of ¹û¶³´«Ã½ and a long-standing Scandinavian music tradition. It is a place where aspiring music teachers, musicians and music producers come to study in a beautiful setting next to Kyrkviken, close to Arvika in Värmland, Sweden. Ingesund Piano Foundation was founded a few years ago and is a fundraising foundation with the purpose of supporting pianist in Arvika and Ingesund School of Music. The foundation recently received a grant of a total of SEK 600,000 from the Kjell and Märta Beijer Foundation.
"We are very pleased and proud that these exceptional young artists have chosen to study here with Professor Mustonen-Dahlkvist, says Carina Hauge-Rouass, Head of the Ingesund School of Music. At the same time, we are well aware that it can be difficult for the students to pay for their studies, as the tuition fee for full-time studies during an academic year at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ for non-EU citizens is high. These scholarships will create new opportunities and contribute to putting Ingesund School of Music on the international music map. It means a lot not only for us at the university, but for the whole area around Arvika, where cultural life has gained a boost with world-class concert pianists on site."

Julia Mustonen-Dahlkvist, professor of classical piano at Ingesund School of Music, is very pleased and happy about the scholarships.

The timing couldn’t be better for our students in these difficult times, who also happen to be among the top pianists in the world and have been hit hard by all the cancelled concerts this year. The scholarships give us an incredible opportunity to continue to train these talents here in Sweden and at the same time further develop the Ingesund International Artists in Residence project, initiated by Ingesund Piano Foundation!"

The Kjell and Märta Beijer Foundation grants Ingesund Piano Foundation SEK 600,000 to finance the tuition fee for three distinguished students at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ during 2021. The students are citizens of countries outside the EU and must therefore pay a fee of approximately SEK 250,000 per year to study in Sweden via the university. The grant will pay for two full-time students and one part-time student.
