The course provides deeper knowledge in phase transformation in solid state in metallic materials. Thermodynamics, mechanisms and kinetics of common phase transformations observed in engineering materials are described. A correlation of microstructural changes with final properties and performance is presented using practical examples of engineering structural materials.
