Centre for research on the mental health and life circumstances of children and youth
The Centre for Research on the Mental Health and Life Circumstances of Children and Youth is a multidisciplinary research environment comprising staff from Psychology, Social Work, Public Health Science, Nursing, and Educational Work. The research focuses on the lives of children and youth from birth until the late teens and early 20s.
We want our research to help children and youth get off to a good start in life, where they have the support of both their family and the larger community. We want to contribute to children and youth having more access to evidence-based prevention, intervention, and treatment.
We research the prevalence of various factors related to the mental health and life circumstances of children and youth, as well as risk and protection factors. We also assess interventions for families of children and youth that require support. We want to highlight the importance of the involvement and rights of children and youth, in research as well as in measures to help them. Our research is specialised in practical application and often conducted in collaboration with stakeholders such as schools, healthcare providers, or social services.
