Seminars and Presentation of Research
By reading and reviewing texts written by other doctoral students and by discussing their own texts, the course aims to develop the ability of participants to contextualise their own research in a broader sense, both academically and societally.
Course goals
Upon completion of the course, doctoral students should demonstrate
- that they can support the learning of others,
- knowledge of the opportunities and limitations of literary and language studies, and
- the ability to place their own research in a societal context.
Prerequisites
Admission to a doctoral programme.
Examination
Outcomes 1–2 are assessed through the presentation of own texts and the critical review of texts written by others in PhD seminars.
Outcome 3 is assessed through an oral presentation, preferably in held English during the final year of the doctoral programme, in which doctoral students contextualise their research from a societal perspective.
