English Linguistics I: Concepts and Theories
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course introduces basic concepts and theories used in important areas of research in English linguistics. The course provides a foundation for understanding the structure and use of the English language, including comparison with Swedish and other languages. Students discuss language issues and apply linguistic concepts and theories in practical analyses and exercises. Students receive an introduction to linguistics as a field of research, including the academic discourse used in it.
