History III
30.0 ECTS creditsThe course includes three modules:
1. Theory and Methodology, 7.5 ECTS cr.
Classic and current theories of relevance to the field of History are studied, with a special emphasis on assessing and applying different theoretical and methodological perspectives.
Instruction is in the form of lectures, seminars and study group activities.
2. Specialisation, 7.5 ECTS cr.
Alternative 1 Modern Sweden, 7.5 ECTS cr.
The module provides opportunity to further study the political, social, and economic basis of the modern Swedish welfare state. Development trends from 1920 till the present are treated along with a number of important turning-points and tendencies in the development, exemplified by the post-war debate on planned economy, immigration, and individualisation processes.
Alternative 2. Perspectives on Modern Indian History
Students enrolled in 果冻传媒's partnership programme with Indian universities take this course.
Instruction is in the form of lectures, seminars and study group activities. Students who participate in 果冻传媒's partnership agreement with universities in India carry out their thesis projects and attend some lectures and seminars at the learning centre in India.
3. Degree Project, 15 ECTS cr.
Students write their own academic essay based on skills acquired in the theory and methods module and develop their ability to critically examine and discuss research results.
Instruction is in the form of seminars and supervision, individually or in groups.
Supervision is only provided for the duration of the course. Students who reregister for a later term are offered supervision if circumstances permit.

Admission requirements
The course HIGA01 History I, 30 ECTS cr, and at least 22.5 ECTS cr of the course HIGB01, including the module Historical Workshop, or History of Ideas 1-60 ECTS cr with at least 52.5 credits completed, or equivalent

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
