Ensemble I, Western classical music
7.5 ECTS creditsStudents study and perform ensemble repertoires from various epochs in Western classical music in different ensemble constellations, and study and apply rehearsal techniques for ensembles, including approaches, techniques, and exercises adapted to different epochs and ensemble forms. Reading music and playing prima vista are included. Styles, performance praxis, notation issues and interpretation across time, different forms of ensembles, and reflections on and approaches to musical interaction and their own playing are included. Piano students also practise accompaniment. Instruction is in the form of group lessons and concentrated rehearsals during project weeks.
