Main instrument IV, Western classical music
15.0 ECTS creditsStudents study, interpret, and perform independently chosen as well as assigned Western classical repertoire pieces from different epochs on their main instrument. They also discuss and apply repertoire, style, musical analysis and interpretation and give accounts of the phases of studying and performing music. There are presentations and applications of complex technical exercises and training in reading complex music notations. Students play repertoire requiring highly developed technical skills and familiarity with style and performance praxis. Parts of the repertoire are performed in in-house concerts. The course also includes discussion of the students' own learning processes and the progress taking place when they study and perform a chosen repertoire and critical reflections on different approaches to music performance.
