Pulp and Paper Technology
15.0 ECTS creditsThe course includes several components, focused on for instance pulp or paper technology, as well as laboratory work, a literature study, written and oral presentations, and peer response on literature assignments.
The following topics are covered in the course:
Fibre raw materials, the production of chemical and mechanical pulp, pulp processing, different paper and cardboard machines, product properties and how these are affected by the process, raw materials and additives, methods for analysing pulp and paper, driveability and energy consumption as a consequence of additives, environmental impact and sustainable development, gender equality in the forest industry.

150 ECTS credits completed in the Master programme in Chemical Engineering, including Separation Processes, 7.5 ECTS credits, and registered for Forest bioeconomy - processes, energy and products, 15 ECTS credits, plus upper secondary level English 6

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
