International Politics
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course gives an introduction to central concepts and theories used in the study of international politics.
The course covers themes such as the growth and development of the modern international system, conflict and cooperation from a theoretical perspective, the status of international law in an international system without a central authority, the structure and role of international organisations, international political economy and globalisation from the perspective of development, regionalism and the EU, and trends related to power in contemporary international politics.
The methodological components include basic training in using relevant theories and concepts to analyse issues of relevance for international politics and Swedish foreign and security policy.
