Leadership and Development in Public Health Care
30.0 ECTS creditsModule 1: The Politics of Health Care, 7.5 credits
The aim of this module is for the students to acquire an understanding of the connection between health and measures taken by society. The module covers the political system, its structure and work forms. It also covers care and health care from an external perspective. The course focuses on the process of political policy formation and welfare politics, with special emphasis on issues related to care and health care.
Module 2: Organisational Theory, 7.5 credits
The aim of this module is for the students to acquire basic knowlege of organisational-theoretical aspects on care and health care. Special attention is given to organisational issues spanning over the fields of politics, economics, quality, and ethics.
Module 3: Resources and Economics, 7.5 credits
The aim of this module is for the students to acquire basic knowledge of financial control in politically governed organisations. The aim is also for students to acquire basic knowledge of current economic strategies of change in municipalities and county councils.
Module 4: Management of Labour-Intensive Organisations, 7.5 credits
The aim of this module is for the students to acquire a developmental perspective and understanding of the psychological conditions affecting groups and individuals in the work place. The module covers the interaction of groups and individuals, as well as the interaction of groups and organisations, focusing on the role of the manager.
