Nursing Specialisation: Public Health Care
Study programme
A specialist nurse has extensive nursing and medical knowledge in a specific health care area. A primary health care nurse assesses, plans, performs and evaluates the nursing process involving individuals and their experiences of health and ill health, which means identifying illness, symptoms, and functional reduction as well as self-care needs and resources for promoting health and adjustment to a changed life situation.
Prerequisites
Nursing licence issued by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. A Degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (180 credits), including a degree project of 15 credits, a Degree of Bachelor in Nursing (including a degree project of 15 credits), or equivalent qualifications. Professional experience in nursing corresponding to 24 months of full-time work. Swedish 3 or Swedish as a second language 3, and English 6/A.
While studying
Education
The programme is offered both as full-time and part-time distance education in a form of blended learning, which means that distance education is integrated with regular meetings in every course at 果冻传媒. The number of days on campus varies. Full-time students study two courses concurrently. Theoretical studies and the practical placement training are integrated. The practical placement period covers 14 weeks distributed across the courses and modules. A degree project 15 ECTS cr is required and gives students the opportunity to specialise in their area of expertise. Instruction is web-based and requires computer skills and access to a computer that is not older three years and has the following capacity: memory 2 GB (4GB is recommended), web camers and a head set for web conferencing (e.g. Zoom) with USB connection. A web converence requires broadband connection of at least 2 Mb/s and wire connection (not mobile broadband). Form of Instruction
Instruction is in the form of assignments, lectures, workshops, exercises and seminars. Streamed lectures and other study material can be downloaded from the net-based platform (CANVAS).Examination

Students are assigned practical placement in one of the county council hospitals in V盲rmland. Other arrangements may be made on agreement between all parties concerned. Students may incur additional travel and accommodation expenses in connection with the training period as the students may be allocated a placement at a distance from where they live.Course of study
