Welcome to the department of law and to Sweden's newest law programme!
Since fall 2017, we offer a complete law programme. ¹û¶³´«Ã½ is thus the seventh university in Sweden authorized to issue a law degree. The content of the programme is characterized by collaboration with the surrounding region, proximity between teachers and students, and the link between theoretical knowledge and experience through practical elements. The programme includes education with interdisciplinary elements based on a clear methodological and theoretical progression.
For the autumn semester 2022, the law programme was the most applied for programme at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ for the sixth year in a row.
In addition to the law programme, the department of law offers several other legal programs, including a master's program in tax law. The department also contributes legal expertise to other departments at ¹û¶³´«Ã½ Business School and the university.
The department of law conducts legal research and postgraduate education that is characterized by close collaboration with other research subjects and with various societal actors. Doctoral education has resulted in dissertations in a number of different subject areas, such as accounting law, company law, general jurisprudence and environmental law. The department of law has a vibrant research climate that has resulted in several high-profile collaborations such as the Academy of Insolvency Law and the Accounting Forum.
