Open access deal - SAGE
The Bibsam agreement with SAGE runs between 2024-2027 and offers KAU researchers free open access publishing with most SAGE hybrid and fully open access journals.
How does it work?
Journal packages included in the agreement are SAGE Premier for hybrid journals (ca 1000 titles) and SAGE Gold OA Package (ca 200 titles) for fully open access journals. The journals covers the social sciences, humanities, engineering and medicine.
Publishing
Articles accepted for publishing after 1 January 2024 are eligible within the agreement.
CC-licenses and article types
Most articles will be published with a CC-BY license. Specific license requirements from research funders can be accepted if the author informs SAGE about this.
Workflow
To benefit from the agreement you need to be the corresponding author and use your KAU email address.
SAGE uses a manuscript system called SAGE Open Access Portal (SOAP).
- When a manuscript has been accepted for publishing you as corresponding author will receive an e-mail informing that the article can be published open access through the Bibsam agreement. You will then be guided to SOAP.
- In SOAP, open access publishing will be the preselected option for you.
- If you choose open access, CC BY will be the only license available through the system. If you would like another license you must contact SAGE.
