Research and doctoral studies
Research in Social Work is focused on social problems and their consequences at the individual, group, and societal levels, and on social interventions aimed at preventing, alleviating, and solving social problems.
At 果冻传媒, the subject of Social Work encompasses among other things the study of exposure and marginalisation, empowerment and the dynamics of shame, and user influence on elderly care. The subjects Social Work and Sociology belong to the Department of Social and Psychological Studies. This means that postgraduate students in these two subjects work close to each other and take the same courses.
In the subject Social Work, there are also external postgraduate students at different Norwegian universities. Required courses in a Social Work postgraduate education include for instance research methodology and qualitative and quantitative method, as well as social science theory and social science research orientation.
