V盲rmland writes
We would like to encourage and inspire more people to write as well as develop the storytelling tradition that has traditionally been prominent in V盲rmland. V盲rmland Writes is run by the Department of Language, Literature and Intercultural Studies聽at 果冻传媒 and forms part of the project V盲rmland Reads, which was launched by Region V盲rmland in 2015.
Being able to read and write is required for participation in society, both for those whose mother tongue is Swedish and for new citizens. The Department of Language, Literature and Intercultural Studies conducts research and education in these subjects and courses are offered in creative writing as well as Swedish as a second language.
Short story contest and book
This year, 2017, there is once again a short story contest, the theme of which is some kind of connection to V盲rmland. Stories should be approximately 10 000-20 000 characters and the deadline for submissions is 30 April. Three winners will be published in a book alongside other writers from V盲rmland. The book will be published in cooperation with Votum publishers and released in the V盲rmland stand at the G枚teborg Book Fair 28 September-1 October.
