Images are intersected with and included in all disciplines and involved in all kinds of communication today. The studies comprise both two-dimensional and three-dimensional representations and visual expressions in spaces, environments and landscapes. Teaching takes place at the dynamic intersection of art practices, visual expression processes, and theoretical studies. Using different techniques and tools for working with images, you explore forms of expression and develop your ability to proceed from an idea to realisation and presentation. Through theoretical studies, you acquire knowledge about the interpretation and methods to analyse aesthetic representations in the field of visual expression.

As a student in our courses, you engage in practical and theoretical studies on a daily basis, exploring materials, techniques, and methods for two-dimensional and three-dimensional representations.
A broad range of independent courses
Our courses include for instance courses focused on visual storytelling, where you learn how to visualise ideas, illustrate facts and fiction, and draw cartoons.
Our courses in sketching techniques provide basic knowledge of tools and methods. These courses offer practical and theory-based knowledge of sketching for portraiture, illustration, sketching ideas, visual storytelling, and other purposes, and include for example model studies and product sketching.
Our courses on the philosophy of photography offer workshops, seminars, and image analysis. The introductory course treats the most important ideas and trends in the history of photography, and the continuation courses are focused on for instance (for example) nature photography and urban photography, with a practical component on photo technology.
The courses in art and design practices provide practical and theory-based knowledge of visual expressions in spaces and landscapes as well as visual art.
Courses on art education in school and preschool
In addition to the independent courses, the teachers in Visual Art in Theory and Practicework in the field of art education, in different parts of the Primary Education Programme. We also offer independent courses focused on art practices in preschool and school.
